Big Bay MPOA
The BBMPOA is an umbrella association whose members consist of the registered owners of all erven comprising the Big Bay Development. This association was a requirement from the local authority to provide a mechanism to make funds available for the upkeep and maintenance of public areas and for funding of additional services, as may be required by the property owners (e.g. dedicated security patrols). The concept is based on City Improvement Districts (CID’s) and Residential Improvement Districts (RID’s) that have been successfully introduced in other existing areas. Levies for this association are currently calculated at 9.75% of your annual rates. This will apply to every registered home owner in Big Bay. The Managing Agent is Trafalgar Property Management.

How to make your neighbourhood greener with free trees from CoCT
The 'Adopt a Tree' initiative aims to get communities involved in expanding the city's green spaces.

Woodbridge Island, Milnerton, 1985🦉
Woodbridge Island in Milnerton has a history linked to the area’s early development. In 1929, David Graaff commissioned a substantial seaside residence known as Zonnekus. It was the first house on the island, built as an upmarket private home at a cost of about £10,000, and designed in the Spanish Colonial style by the architects Walgate and Elsworth. The project reflected Graaff’s confidence in the future of Milnerton Estates.
Following his death in 1931, the property was leased to the United Kingdom’s High Commissioner and later returned to the Graaff family.
The island also holds earlier historical significance. During the Second Boer War, British forces constructed a wooden bridge in 1901 linking the island to the mainland as part of coastal defensive measures.
The area retains elements of its maritime character, including the Milnerton Lighthouse, completed in 1960.
